Will there finally be a great male gymnast from the Des Moines area? It sure seems that way with the ascension of Dowling very own Noah Scigliano. The Dowling sophomore is a level ten gymnast who trains at Triad gymnasium six days a week.

All this hard work was rewarded this summer with an invitation to the 2015 Junior Olympic National Championships in Dayton Florida. Scigliano  was able to finish 10th place on the vault for level 9 and 23rd overall for his level. He did this competing against the best amateur gymnast in the country.

Even with his hectic schedule, Scigliano is still able to balance this with school maintaining a 4.02 GPA. Scigliano states that a big factor in his success has been the constant competition.

Scigliano’s father Mark was a great athlete at Dowling in in late 1980s, excelling in track and football. Noah’s brother Nico is no slouch himself, leading the Dowling football team to a 3rd straight state championship this past season.

“Growing up in household full of athletes was definitely fun; it’s the reason I am where I am today,” Scigliano said.

The sky’s the limit for the young Scigliano.
