Robin: Why did you build this thing with only one seat?

Batman: Uh, cause last time I checked, I only have one butt.

The Lego Batman Movie had high expectations. Combining two of my favorite childhood things, Batman and Lego, is something that needs to be done with the utmost amount of care and dedication.

The movie was not a goofy store about good guys versus bad buys. Instead, it dove deep into Batman’s character. The movie was an adventure through Batman’s emotions. Refusing to have relationships with anyone, Batman is still devastated by the loss of his parents. His greatest fear is not being defeated by his enemies, but being a part of a family.

The Lego Batman Movie is a movie that I can’t wait to watch again with my whole family. It never missed an opportunity to throw in a joke, and had extremely lovable characters. My only issue is at some points it got so strange that you raise your eyebrows for the wrong reasons. Fortunately, the humor makes up for this.

This movie was not the ‘best Batman movie ever,’ but was a quality movie that was much better than the past two DC Comic’s movies (Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad). Proving once again that Warner Bros. can make amazing superhero movies, The Lego Batman Movie was a hilarious movie for the whole family to watch.

Obviously, “It must be great to be Batman!”

My score:

8.5/10
