With a shortened football season due to COVID-19, seniors had to play two fewer games with all the rules and regulations. Friday night was the last time these seniors will play at Valley Stadium in their football career. Seniors enjoyed a walk out on the field with their family as they took pictures and celebrated one last game at Valley Stadium.

It was an emotional ride for a lot of seniors seeing their fellow teammates walk across the Valley field. So many practices, workouts, and games have led up to this.

“It was really emotional because after growing up playing with these guys for so many years it’s hard to believe it was our last home game together,” Andrew Lentsch (12) said.

The maroons took the field and dominated right away, scoring five touchdowns in the first half and leading 35-0 going into the 3rd quarter. They were trying to get as many seniors in the game as possible. After the Dodgers scored two quick touchdowns late in the 3rd quarter, the maroons put up two more touchdowns to win 49-14. Getting a win on a senior night was great to see.

Senior Josh Stanfel said, “It was something I have never experienced, it was just straight-up indescribable.”

The maroons have a 5-1 record going into the postseason and are getting ready to make another deep playoff run. With this group of seniors, anything can be possible, and the maroons are ready.
