Also, I can speak some Spanish. Not a lot, but maybe I can hold a conversation, even though their accents are weird. And then, they have really great nature. You can go hang out with the gauchos, the cowboys, drink some maté, go to Patagonia, you name it. Also the falls, Iguazu. Argentina has it all.”

Becca Youngers (12), queen candidate. Photo taken by Meaghan Wittstock.
  • Cane’s or Chick-fil-a and why?
    • “Personally, I am a Cane’s person. I am a vegetarian of four years. I just like the things that Cane’s offers more. I know that Chick offers more of a variety with their mac n cheese, but if I’m wanting something at Cane’s or Chick, I’m choosing Cane’s. Their sauce to me is just a lot better, and I can make it at home also, a really good combination. I’ll give you that recipe if you want. Their fries are just really good. If you’re vegetarian, would recommend getting just two toasts and some extra fries, lots of sauce, and a lemonade. It’s great, it’s filling, sustaining.”

The king and queen will be announced on Friday, September 24th, during the pep assembly and again recognized during halftime of the football game. The candidates will all be announced as well as we face Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. Happy Homecoming!
