Take a look at these gourmet cookies!

Crumbl Cookies, a bakery that claims to serve the best cookies in the world, has captivated consumers across the nation. Within the last year, the company has grown heavily in popularity greatly due to publicity through social media, specifically TikTok. Aside from their cookies already being extravagant, what keeps people coming back is the new cookies they come out with weekly. Here, we visited the new Crumbl location in Ankeny, IA and tried out the cookies of the week. Then, we determined if they were worth the buildup.

Hazelnut Churro

The first cookie we tried was served warm. It was very soft and a little undercooked in the middle. The cookie was almost identical to a snickerdoodle, but it had a warm, hazelnut chocolate filling. This was Gracie’s favorite cookie, and both of us would order it again.

The second cookie we tried was also served warm. It was very soft with a marshmallow-like filling. The cookie was super cute, but neither of us are fans of cake batter flavoring. Gracie would not order it again, but Mara would if it was less underdone.

S’mores

The third cookie we tried was also served warm. It had a toasted marshmallow on top and the idea was super cute. We agreed that we would rather have a real s’more and wished the cookie would have had a graham cracker-like crunch. Neither of us would order it again.

The fourth cookie we tried was served chilled. It was very soft and the frosting complimented the cookie perfectly. The cookie was very sweet, and we both liked that it was served chilled. Both of us would order it again.

Milk Chocolate Chip

The fifth cookie we tried was served warm. It was thick, but was not the best chocolate chip cookie we had ever had. We agreed that we preferred a thinner cookie and would need a glass of milk to finish it. Gracie would order it again, but Mara would not.

The last cookie we tried was also served warm. It was a very rich chocolate cookie topped with peanut butter and more chocolate. We agreed that it was too much chocolate and would have been more enjoyable if it was easier to eat. Neither of us would order it again.

We concluded that Crumbl Cookies are worth it, mainly for the experience. Although each individual cookie might not live up to the overwhelming attention they receive across social media, especially because we waited so long for a location of our own, they are undeniably great cookies. Neither of us will likely be heading to Crumbl daily or weekly, but we will definitely stop by again if a cookie of the week happens to look incredibly enticing.
