Happy Easter + Easter Mass Times

Happy+Easter+%2B+Easter+Mass+Times

With Easter right around the corner, some of you are probably counting down the days until you can once again indulge in the sweets, mac and cheese, fast food, or online shopping you gave up for Lent. Without a doubt, you are ready for Lent to be over if you gave up candy.

With every store advertising dozens of different Easter-themed or bunny-shaped candies, it’s no wonder everybody counts down the days until they can break their Lenten resolutions. Of course, not every candy is created equal. You have the Easter classics, like Peeps, Cadbury Cream Eggs, and malted milk robin’s eggs. Then, there are the candies that taste just as good year round, but take on new shapes for Easter, such as Reese’s, Hershey’s or Snickers. There are also the candies that fall somewhere in between, like Lindt Chocolate Carrots and anything by Russell Stover, which seems to take up a half aisle by itself at Hy-Vee. Obviously, everybody’s favorite candies that they get from the Easter Bunny every year; for me and my brother, it was pastel-colored Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Starburst Jellybeans and a package of Peeps in our favorite color.

However, it is important that we remember the real reason for the season. After all, nobody wants to be the kid that says “I don’t know… Jesus?” when asked if they know why we don’t have school on Monday.

Below is a list of some of the mass times for churches in the Des Moines Area. If you don’t see your home parish, please visit your church website to see if mass times have changed.
