Mr. Bradley Wilson was born and raised in Urbandale, Iowa and graduated from Dowling Catholic. From there he went to Iowa State University and double majored in Music and Civil Engineering. He then moved to Kansas City where he worked as a Civil Engineer and sang in a professional music group called The Kansas City Chorale.
After being in the world of Civil Engineering for a while, Mr. Wilson returned to school and got his masters in music education at the University of Kansas. He moved back to Iowa after receiving his masters and has been teaching in his home state ever since. “I think this is year 13.” He’s spent time with all ages, but always comes back to high school.

But why teach instead of perform? After performing with various professional groups, it’d be safe to assume that Mr. Wilson would be more than qualified to perform. While he did consider performance, it all came down to his skills and his desire to work with people.
This year, Mr. Wilson is directing DC Singers and A Capella, both curricular choirs, as well as Grace Notes jazz choir. It is apparent that his passion for music and teaching comes through in everything he does, but his passion comes to life working with his students. “When kids get excited about it, that’s when it gets exciting.”
