A few days after Christmas, during those days that all seem to blend together, my family took a trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin with one stop in mind: Lambeau Field. We were going to catch the Packers vs Ravens game and we couldn’t be more excited. As we drove through Iowa and Wisconsin our excitement only grew. Between my brother and my mom arguing about the temperature in the car and me crafting the perfect road trip playlist our seven hour drive went by very quickly.

When we arrived in Green Bay, we were instantly engulfed by Packers everything. Green Bay is a very tight knit community that takes their team very seriously. We only had a few days in Green Bay so we knew we had to make the most of it. After we settled in our hotel room we got back in the car and drove around Green Bay to explore. We walked around the stadium and visited the team shop. Just outside their team shop they have a statue photo op dedicated to the famous Lambeau Leap. This is a tradition the Packers have, whenever they play at home they always jump into the stands to celebrate their touchdowns with their fans. The statue gives fans a chance to

attempt their own Lambeau Leap, just like the players. My mom and I both attempted the Lambeau Leap and mine was somewhat successful, my mom on the other hand, struggled to perfect the leap. We both could probably take some tips from the players to improve our leaps, but we had so much fun at the statue.
The next day was the day we had been counting down to, game day. Our hotel was about a ten minute walk to the stadium and to Title Town. Title Town is this area right next to the stadium that’s filled with activities and restaurants for the fans to enjoy not only on game day, but year round. Before the game, we traveled down to Title Town where we were fully absorbed into the game day madness. There was live music, photo ops, a football field filled with people messing around, and fans radiating their pride for their team. My family had so much fun wandering around Title Town just trying to take it all in. We spent about an hour at Title Town before we headed back to our hotel to warm up before heading to the game.

My family and I, bundled up and got ready to make our trek to the stadium. On our way there, we walked with a huge crowd of fans all heading to the same place. As we walked through the concourse of the stadium to find our seats the stadium felt electric, everyone was so excited for the game to start. We found our seats and braved the cold as we watched the Packers take on the Ravens. It was a hard fought battle between both teams that ended in the Ravens coming out on top. Even though our team didn’t win, we had the best time at the game. Seeing it live is a completely different experience then just watching it through your TV. Seeing the action of the game in person is unmatched and there is so much camaraderie between the fans that is built in the stadium. For instance, we saw one fan decked on in a full viking outfit that was constantly getting stopped to take photos with other fans. Unfortunately, the Packers lost in the first round of playoffs this year so their season is over, but some teams are still battling it out for a chance at the Lombardi Trophy. Catch the Superbowl on February eighth, and tune in next season to see the Packers back in action.
