Mirrorball Mayhem
It’s that time of year again, Dancing with the Stars has returned for Season 34 after twenty years on air. The stars this season just as many from the past consist of many different backgrounds. We both are avid watchers of the show and have decided to come together to rank the stars this season.
Baldwin, a yoga instructor, is our least favorite celebrity on the show this season. We dislike her because she has a background in professional dance. Many fans disliked her because of her past dance experience and past controversies in the limelight. Having beat a pro, Emma Slater, at a major dance competition many fans, including us, rallied against her. We were disappointed at her lack of stage presence and stiffness. She went viral on TikTok after her TikTok night dance that included a short hand motion she did, which many people later went to recreate in a mocking fashion. She was voted off on week four of the show during Disney night. Her extensive dance knowledge mixed with her controversial past leaves her in our fourteenth spot.
Feldman, an actor in The Goonies, takes the thirteenth spot because of his lack of dance ability and his vibes. He made many viewers uncomfortable with his song choice and movements. Although he was with a fan favorite pro, Jenna Johnson, he still struggled with gaining support. He also lost a lot of fans due to him forgetting the moves and fans visibly being able to see Jenna talk him through each step. He didn’t make it far in the competition due to his lack of popularity.
Davis, a former NBA athlete, is very forgettable and his personality doesn’t shine that much when he dances. We found ourselves getting bored while watching his dances. He wasn’t on the show long due to his lack of fan base and dance ability.
Hoying, a Pentatonix singer, is very shy with his moves making it look very awkward. He is very hesitant with all the steps, but he moves with ease, even with having scoliosis. Scott makes an amazing Ryan from High School Musical, as for Disney night he performed to “Bop to the Top.” He kind of fell trap to a superstition that fans have of if the celebrity performs to their own song they get out as he performed to his song on dedication night, but got out a week later on Wicked night.
Richter, a comedian, struggles with the complex moves due to his age. This caused him to have really low scores throughout the competition putting him in the bottom three nearly every week. He won the hearts of many beginning with his sentimental moment week three when he grabbed the camera. This led to him becoming the “people’s princess” and often gave people a laugh during his packages. Many were sad when he got out week nine, but it was his time to go.
Jauregui, a Fifth Harmony singer, has amazing stage presence due to her singing background. She really revealed her true self during her dances. Getting out in week three, she fell trap to the superstition of performing one of your own songs and getting eliminated. It shocked fans when she got out because she had a big fan base and her fellow group members who’ve competed on the show made it to the finale.
Affleck, a Secret Lives of Mormon Wives actress, has a really good stage presence. Her facial expressions always added to her dances. She is also only a few months post-partum, showing how strong she is. Her dances reflected who she is as a person. Her week seven elimination had mixed opinions, but she had a great run with first season pro, Jan Ravik, former Eras Tour backup dancer.
Fishel, Topanga on Boy Meets World, really let her younger self shine through in her dances. She is very elegant, strong, and comfortable when she dances, especially after having cancer. We particularly loved her dedication dance because she dedicated it to William Daniels, Mr. Feeny. It was very sad to watch her get out week 8.
Leavitt, another Secret Lives of Mormon Wives actress, has great facial expressions, but is very cringey. She is a skilled dancer, but has struggled with timing on numerous occasions. Some people love her, but we do not because we think there has been some favoritism with her pro being Mark Ballas, one of the judges best friends.
Hendrix, the actress who played Meredith Blake on Parent Trap, dances very well. She has improved over the season and made an amazing comeback after she suffered an injury on Halloween night. She has a great stage presence and has paid homage to Parent Trap several times.
Efron, reality TV personality, quickly won the girls hearts by his looks. His partner, Daniella Karagach, really knew how to appease the fans. He moves with confidence and ease making him score in the top 5 every time. His dedication dance also touched so many hearts because he danced with his little sister to Rewrite the Stars by Zac Efron and Zendaya.
Chiles, an Olympic athlete, is very in depth with her moves. She showcases her gymnastic talents week after week. Having only one very noticeable slip up in heels, she has done very well. Chiles is such a fun person to watch come back every week, with lots of new things to look forward to in each of her dances.
Earle, a TikTok influencer, shows so much passion and personality when she dances. She connects well with her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. She has mastered her facial expressions while dancing. Earle has a large TikTok fanbase rooting for her. She has greatly progressed throughout the weeks. Earning near perfect scores three weeks in a row. She is very open with her fanbase, showing her love for their support. She is very relatable making her easy to root for.
Irwin, a wildlife enthusiast, is our personal favorite celebrity of this season. He’s goofy and funny but he knows when it’s time to lock in and he takes his dances very seriously. He’s very likeable, especially after his dedication night dance. He dedicated that dance to his mom and all the single moms touching the hearts of many and not leaving a dry eye in the ballroom. He’s always cheering on the other celebrities and is always very optimistic about this experience. His pro, Witney Carson, knows how to bring out the best of him in their dances. He earned the first perfect score showing how competitive he is along with being a fan favorite.
This season’s stars all shine bright which makes each elimination harder as the show moves on. With the finale fast approaching we are both on the edge of our seats to see who will take home the mirrorball this season. Tune in on November 21, at 8:00 pm ET on all ABC platforms and Disney+ to see who will win it all. Let us know who you think should win!
