Released March 13, 2026, “Reminders of Him” intrigued many people. Colleen Hoover’s popularity has led to turning books into movies. “Reminders of Him” was an emotional, compelling film about a girl, Kenna (Maika Monroe) and how she is moving past the tragedy of her boyfriend, Scotty (Rudy Pankow) dying. This movie explores forgiveness, healing, and challenges. It’s an emotional journey that focuses on mending relationships and personal growth.
One of the things I liked about “Reminders of Him” was how it was structured. There was a lot of good build up to different plots and it was easy to follow along. I liked how this film waited to reveal certain things because it kept me engaged and wanting to continue watching. It had a strong plot that wasn’t confusing, however, it wasn’t boring either.
Something that I didn’t enjoy was Kenna’s acting. I felt like she wasn’t strong at showing the emotions that the movie was trying to evoke. There were different parts of this movie that I felt like her acting was dull and expressionless.
Stemming from a book, the general public had high exceptions for this film. However, many say that it was rushed and the book had far too much valuable content to fit into this film. I felt the same way. They missed some key emotional parts that help the audience feel more gravitated towards certain relationships.
Aside from some minor acting issues and the rushed feeling, “Reminders of Him” was interesting. Most of the time, books that turn into movies don’t work out the way many want them

to. I find that the books tend to be significantly better than the movies. This film did a good job trying to get the major details of the content into a movie. I would recommend “Reminders of Him” to teenage girls, which seems to be the target audience.
